Lauren Bertsch Clothing

A freshman at Michigan State University, Lauren Bertsch, has already been working on her career goals for a few years. With a passion for design and sewing, Lauren began making clothes and accessories at the age of 14. After honing her craft, Lauren successfully opened an Etsy shop in 2015 to sell her handmade goods.

Leigh Ann and Sara had the good fortune of meeting Lauren and were so impressed by her attention to detail and style; not to mention what she was capable of at such a young age! The Patten ladies asked Lauren about creating an accessory for their fall line and she was so enthusiastic about doing so. You can order her piece here and here.

Suzy Merchant and empowHER Leadership Retreat

For each Signature Scarf and Skyward Umbrella sold, a charitable contribution was made to the empowHER Leadership Retreat, sponsored by Michigan State University’s Women’s Head Basketball Coach, Suzy Merchant.

The empowHER Leadership Retreat was created to provide fourth- through ninth-grade girls the tools to find confidence, passion and purpose in their lives.

With support and education in our interactive workshops, empowHER girls will embrace their strengths and differences, build their self-confidence and participate in service projects that demonstrate the importance of giving back to their community.
